Welcome To Beautiful SoCal

Thank you for visiting the Beautiful SoCal site. As native Southern Californians we have grown up observing, exploring and sometimes taking for granted the natural and man-made sights and sounds of the lower half of the golden state.

It is with this in mind we have decided to start documenting and sharing as much of these beautiful sights as possible. To allow people to virtually visit beautiful places in California without leaving the house.

We are constantly striving to improve our film making, editing and presentation formats so stick around if you like what you see. The best is yet to come.

San Gabriel River North Fork – Relaxing River

North Fork is home to one of the only natural lakes in the San Gabriel Mountains, Crystal Lake. It is also the steepest of the 3 major forks feeding the San Gabriel River. Continue up hwy 39 past the east fork bridge, San Gabriel OHV area and the west fork / Cogswell damn parking lot to enter North Fork.

Filmed in the lower section of north fork, this area contains picnic tables and plenty of pools to cool off in on a hot summer day, try your luck fishing or just relax next to the well shaded stream.

Arcadia Wilderness Park – Singing Birds and Clouds

Arcadia Wilderness Park is one of the foothills best kept secrets. Featuring picnic grounds, hiking trails, a nature center and an archery range, there’s something for everyone in this park.

Filmed in spring, this non time-lapse video highlights the sounds of #birds singing and fast moving cloudy skies over the park.

San Gabriel River West Fork Relaxing Water

A tranquil look at the west fork of the #SanGabrielRiver. West fork is approximately 10 miles north of #Azusa and offers a #relaxing walk or bike ride on a closed 6.5 mile paved road that connects Hwy 39 to Cogswell reservoir. Anglers love the area for the rainbow and brown trout that call west fork home. Suitable for fly or spin fishing.

Relaxing Stream – Monrovia Canyon Park

A #BeautifulSocal #RelaxingStream in California’s #MonroviaCanyonPark. Nestled in the San Gabriel mountain range, Monrovia Canyon Park offers scenic picnic grounds and a mild 1.6 mile round trip hike to a 30 foot waterfall. California Coast Range Newts can be seen in the stream during breeding season and sharp eyes can even spot a few in this pool!
